Chris started taking things apart long before he was old enough to drive. His dad bought him a motorcycle with one rule: if he broke it, he had to fix it. He broke it pretty quickly—and learned the lesson that still drives Roadrunner Customs today. Across the street, a neighbor restored rare old Buicks and other classics; down the road, another neighbor drag raced. One taught him to respect craftsmanship. The other made him want to go fast.
When Chris finally got his first car, the inline-six did not last long. He pulled it, swapped in a V8 and has been chasing more power ever since. High-school cruising grew into a lifelong involvement in drag racing. Today, that same obsession is fueling a 2,000-plus-horsepower late-model Silverado—the project that helped spark Roadrunner Customs.
An Eagle Scout with schooling in electronics, Chris sold car audio before spending years as a Snap-on dealer and later working with Hunter Engineering as a manufacturer's representative. A career spent in and around automotive shops gave him deep, hands-on experience with wiring, mechanical systems, suspension, wheels, tires and balancing—and a clear view of both exceptional workmanship and work that makes you scratch your head.
After years of helping local shops and hearing people ask why he was not doing this himself, Chris built the shop experience he always wanted as a customer: honest, personal, detail-driven and worth the money.
